The official residence of the British monarch in Scotland. It was the principal residence of the Kings and Queens of Scots since the 16th century. No pictures were allowed inside.

Holyrood Abbey
Ruined abbey connected to the Palace. Founded by Kind David I in 1128. Its guesthouse was later expanded and became Holyroodhouse Palace. Coronation site of several kings and queens. Faulty renovations led to the roof's collapse and disuse since 1768.
